COURSE NAME: LAW 121 INTRODUCTION TO LAW ENFORCEMENT

Students will learn the essentials of Law Enforcement. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) explain the basic terms and concepts used in policing and the basic differences between good and bad policing, 2) discuss the historical developments made in policing and the role of policing in today’s society, 3) describe the effectiveness of traditional and non-traditional techniques used by law enforcement to control crime including strategies and method, and 4) outline and discuss police systems and their role in democratic societies and emerging and international forms of policing.
