COURSE NAME: LAW 120 INVESTIGATIVE REPORT WRITING
Course Description (Detailed Syllabus is released upon registration)
Students will learn the essentials of investigative report writing. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) describe how police reports are written, and explain the difference between crime reports and arrests, 2) discuss the basics of an investigation including the investigator, persons of interest, and steps involved, 3) explain how to take notes, types of notes taken by policy and investigators, and the important factual information, and 4) accurately describe persons and property, search warrants, interviews, and how to compile narratives..
