COURSE NAME: LAW 113 LEGAL RESEARCH AND WRITING
Course Description (Detailed Syllabus is released upon registration)
Students will learn the essentials of Legal Research and Writing. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) explain the role of the paralegal in legal research and writing, how to use on-line resources, and how to draft legal documents and memorandums, 2) outline the major components of the litigation process, and list and explain key documents involved, 3) describe the primary and secondary sources of legal materials including statutes, annotated law reports, and statutory indexes, and 4) discuss the importance of court rules, court reporters, legal encyclopedias, index to legal periodicals, restatements, and related laws.
