COURSE NAME: LAW 101 INTRODUCTION TO PARALEGAL

Students will be introduced to the essentials of Paralegal. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) explain the role paralegals play in litigation, torts or personal injury, criminal law, business law, family law, and contracts, 2) describe how paralegals assist in running a legal office and know the implications of paralegal regulations and paralegal ethics, 3) identify some of the basic principles client interviewing and researching information, and 4) explain the purpose of case reporters and statute books and the various types of legal research and writing.
