Students will learn the basics of healthcare information management. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) explain the basic clinical terms, the reimbursement methods, and the various basic information systems used in healthcare, 2) discuss the basic healthcare improvement concepts, and the methods for improving efficiency and effectiveness, 3) describe the supervisor’s role in managing healthcare information including processes for organizing and delegating tasks, and 4) explain the importance of regulatory agencies, health management personnel, and the resources departments.
