COURSE NAME: HCA 108 MODERN MEDICAL CODING I
Course Description (Detailed Syllabus is released upon registration)
Students will learn the essentials of medical coding. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) define medical coding, describe the reimbursement process, and summarize diagnosis coding, 2) discuss current procedural terminology (CPT) and summarize its coding and structure, 3) summarize documentation procedures and issues with fraud and abuse, and 4) explain how to solve problems with ICD-9-CM coding and structure.
