COURSE NAME: CTS 103 COMPTIA NETWORKS FUNDAMENTALS
Course Description (Detailed Syllabus is released upon registration)
Students will learn the essentials networks fundamentals. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) distinguish between LAN topologies and WAN topologies, between centralized and decentralized networks, and between the key network, 2) explain the basic features and characteristics of key Ethernet technologies, transmission flaws associated with analog and digital signals, factors that affect transmission, 3) describe how circuit switching works , how packet switching works, the capabilities of WAN transmission media and the basic WAN transmission, and 4) distinguish between the uses of ADSL, SDSL, VDSL, and cable modems, explain the basic characteristics of T1/E1, T3/E3, OC-x, and MPLS WAN types.
